Pre-kindergarten - 5th grade

PDA students Project Dental Awareness (PDA) is designed to increase students’ awareness of dental health and dental careers.

PK - 3rd Grade On-Site Visits will include:

  • Presentations
  • Hands-on Activities
  • Cultural Competency Activities
    • PK - “Geena” video (Geena the giraffe experiences losing her first tooth)
    • KINDER -“Incredible Ride” video (Dr. Rabbit teaches good oral health habits)
    • 1st Grade - “Brushing our teeth” (Brushing within the lines of a large tooth)
    • 2nd Grade -“Pretty Smiles” (Using large lima beans to create a pretty smile the lines of a large tooth)
    • 3rd Grade -“Sealants” (Sealing a typodont tooth with dental sealant material)

Future Dentist Club (FDC)

The Future Dentist Club is for 4th through 12th graders. Activities include:

Information:

  • Visits are on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.
  • We ask that the teachers remain with their classes to help maintain the students’ focus on the presentations.
  • Some presentations will require a TV/DVD and /or a classroom with tables and chairs.
  • Room accommodations must be set-up prior to PDA staff’s arrival.
